When purchasing rubber flooring, there are many different things to consider. In this article, we are going to educate you on how to select the right rubber flooring material for your needs and budget!
Rubber Flooring Material Types
We offer 2 different types of rubber flooring, GymFit Essential and GymFit Compete. Our GymFit Essential line of products come in 1/4“ and 5/16“ thickness, which make them great for offices, locker rooms, and walkways! Our GymFit Compete line of products come in 3/8“ and 1/2“ thickness, which make them durable enough to use for indoor tracks, sports areas, and weight rooms!
Roll Sizes
All of our rubber flooring rolls come in a standard 4’ width, and can be made up to 100’ length! No matter what size your space is, our sales team can help you configure the best roll dimensions to purchase for easy installation and full coverage!
The larger the roll, the more difficult the rubber is to handle due to weight. If you are planning to do the installation yourself, it may be wise to work with smaller roll lengths. With that said, our rubber flooring is very easy to cut down using a measuring tape, straight edge, and utility knife!
Rubber Flooring Color Options
We have a variety of color options to match your business, school, or team colors! Here is a breakdown of available color options for each rubber flooring thickness:
1/4“ - (3) Color Options (Black, Blue Jay, and Stone)
5/16” - (9) Color Options (Black, Blue Jay, Brick Red, Candy Apple, Charcoal Silver, Desert Tan, Icy Snow, Smooth Gravel, and Stone)
3/8“ - (20) Color Options (Bee Yellow, Black, Blizzard, Blue Rush, Blue Jay, Brick Red, Candy Apple, Charcoal Silver, Desert Tan, Frosted Grape, Icy Snow, Mint, Mountain, Red Wave, Rose Garden, Royal Purple, Sandstorm, Smooth Gravel, Star Gaze, Stone, Tiger Rage, and Winter)
1/2“ - (8) Color Options (Black, Blizzard, Blue Jay, Candy Apple, Icy Snow, Red Wave, Star Gaze, and Stone)
Installation Process
Rubber flooring is very simple to install! Here is a step by step process to installation:
- Map out the installation on paper and label rolls to fully understand the scope of the project
- Prepare the floor for installation by cleaning thoroughly and getting rid of any debris/dust
- Lay out the rolls, making sure they are flush prior to seaming
- Fold apart the rolls and apply our Double Sided Tape or Rubber Flooring Adhesive along the entire seam. Use weights on top of the rolls to keep them in place if necessary
- One you have the Double Sided Tape or Adhesive applied to the ground, fold the rolls back together and make sure the seams are flush
- Apply weights on top of the seam to let the rubber flooring settle to the Double Sided Tape or Adhesive
